Aquatic Therapy Aquatic Therapy is offered in warm-water pools to support rehabilitation through guided exercise and movement. Licensed therapists deliver individualized care and structured instruction tailored to patient needs. The program is integrated with short-term or outpatient rehabilitation services. It improves strength, flexibility, and overall mobility.
IRF Rehabilitation Our Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Facilities (IRFs) deliver comprehensive inpatient rehabilitation for individuals requiring intensive recovery support. We aim to enhance activities of daily living and functional mobility to build independence. An interdisciplinary care team provides coordinated treatment tailored to patient needs. We ensure safe discharge planning that supports return to home and community environments.
Long-Term Acute Care Our LTAC services receive patients referred from acute care hospitals following short-term stays. These individuals have complex medical conditions requiring long-term acute and chronic care management. We deliver coordinated treatment for conditions that cannot be quickly addressed in other facilities. Rehabilitation support is provided to assist patients in preparing for discharge to lower levels of care.
Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Our rehabilitation staff includes physiatrists, physical therapists, speech-language therapists, respiratory therapists, and occupational therapists working together to deliver outpatient care. We offer one-on-one therapy, flexible scheduling, and prompt evaluations to support recovery. Our hospitals feature expansive gyms and therapeutic pools equipped with advanced technology. We also provide real-world training environments and specialized equipment including the AlterG treadmill.
Physical Therapy Our Physical Therapy program is centered on restoring movement and improving daily function. We evaluate each patients condition and design a personalized plan of care. Interventions focus on increasing range of motion, enhancing strength, and supporting safe ambulation. We also address pain reduction and provide guidance to promote long-term physical well-being.
Prosthetics & Orthotics We offer Prosthetics & Orthotics services in collaboration with Cornell Orthotics & Prosthetics, emphasizing personalized evaluations and tailored prosthetic and bracing solutions. Our weekly clinics help patients with amputations work toward restored mobility. My daughter was recently in a serious ski accident. Post surgery, and after a one month hospital stay, she was transferred to Whittier rehab in Bradford. We could not have been happier or more satisfied with the level of care, patience and kindness that she received. From the initial care coordinators to Drs Ligouri and Pant, the nurses and CNAs, as well as the outstanding work with Victoria from PT, and Emmarose from OT, she couldnt have been in better hands while at Whittier. She learned the tools to become mobile again and is on her way to full recovery.

My father was sent to Whittier after quite a lengthy stay in the hospital from . We honestly didnt know what to expect and we all were so impressed with the care and compassion he received from everyone there. He was excited to get back up and moving and on the path to rehabilitation, and everything and everyone there was phenomenal. He is home now and cannot say enough about how thrilled he was with the care received, and neither can we. I would 100% trust my loved ones in their care .

I had an exceptional experience while a patient at Whittier rehabilitation. I came to Whittier after a laminectomy during cancer treatment. I was in a hospital bed for 28 days. One of the highlights of my stay was working with Dorothy Jordan. Dorothy diagnosed my beta blockers/heart meds were causing me to pass out. She spent a day filling me with fluids while I spent the day inverted to clear my body of the beta blockers. I cant thank her enough for her care and compassion. In addition the PT/OT staff went above and beyond to get me back on my feet. The inpatient and outpatient PT staff are exceptional. I am 18 months out from my initial stay and back at a second round of PT/OT. I am so grateful for the efforts of the entire staff. Each staff member has read my chart before treatment and pushes me a little further each session. The entire staff and reception area folks are caring and compassionate and so knowledgeable. The fall that paralyzed my left side and subsequent laminectomy that brought me to Whittier had me questioning would I ever return to being functional. It is my belief that when I finish this second round of PT/OT I will be back to my pre fall self. I am blessed to have the Whittier Staff working with me.

I was happy that when I called about a concern I had with my right knee replacement that I got an appointment the very next day. I was happy that the 3 out of 4 staff members that I saw were staff that I had almost 3 years ago. I was really glad that l had the same PA. After our conversation, he gave me the confidence I needed that I had no problem happening with that knee. I can always trust Whittier Rehab Hospital for my needs. Thank You again!!

My brother was at Whittier in Bradford. The nurses, PT, nutritionist & Dr Pant & Dr Lynn were amazing! Such great care. They understood my brother was near passing & I did not want my brother moved. We had hospice care along with the staff at Whittier. I am very happy he passed away in peace. Thank you again for the great care & compassion.

I understand healthcare because it's been my life's endeavor. Whittier's rehabilitation facility was selected for my restoration, of a complex fractured hip, because it was geographically located near my daughter's home. My preference would have been to be closer to my own home in Winchester. My daughter's choice, however, proved to be a God's send for my rehabilitation.

Here is my testimonial: "It is not the physical structure of a healthcare facility that is the most important factor to be considered when dealing with people who are in immediate need of rehabilitation. No, it is, without doubt, the healthcare professionals who have dedicated their careers to help others get well. Those professional, including executives, doctors, registered nurses, CNAs, physical and occupational therapist, students as well as custodial workers all played a major role in helping me get home to my surroundings where my rehabilitation will be continued."

Thank you Lisa, my daughter who selected Whittier for my care, and special thanks to the dedicated caregivers who fulfilled their mission to care for patients with love and devotion.
