Our History

Mt. Olive Family Medicine Center was founded in 1970 by Dr. Hervy Kornegay and Dr. Robert Shackleford. The clinic started on Smith Chapel Road, Mt. Olive, and by 1997, it had transitioned into a non-profit Rural Health Center. In 2002, we moved to our current location on Breazeale Avenue, which expanded the practice to 14,500 square feet to accommodate continued growth and added services. In 2022, a new wing was added for an expanded Walk-in Clinic, allowing us to provide acute care services without an appointment. We continue to innovate and look forward to serving our community for years to come.

We offer a wide range of services including a Walk-in Clinic, Community Programs, On-Site Services, Concussion Clinic, Behavioral Health, Community Health, Medical Access Program, Prescription Assistance Program, Chronic Care Management Services, and Clinical Services.
