Caring for the Uninsured in Centre County since 2003!
At Centre Volunteers in Medicine (CVIM), we have a profound sense of purpose. Our dedicated volunteers are tirelessly working to make a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve. Their unwavering commitment, countless stories of despair, have been rewritten into tales of hope and recovery. We envision a future where every individual living or working in Centre County, Pennsylvania, has access to quality healthcare.
Our journey began in 1991, when the first Volunteers in Medicine Clinic opened its doors in Hilton Head, South Carolina. The clinic was built on a simple yet powerful idea: utilising volunteers to provide compassionate care to the medically uninsured. Inspired by this concept, a group of local citizens led by Rev. Joe Faulkner came together in February 2001 to address the healthcare needs in Centre County. Centre Volunteers in Medicine was incorporated as a non-profit organisation on June 12, 2001. Following a successful fundraising campaign, our clinic opened its doors to patients seeking medical care on Easterly Parkway in State College in February 2003. As our services continued to evolve, we expanded our clinic in December 2008 to Green Tech Drive, increasing our capacity to care for more medical and dental patients.
Today, we are delighted to be located at 2026 Sandy Drive, boasting 11,000 square feet of technologically advanced clinic space. Our journey has not been without its challenges, but the support and commitment of our volunteers, donors, and partners have been instrumental in our growth and success. We are proud to say that our clinic has become a beacon of hope for those in need of quality healthcare, providing much-needed medication, medical and dental care, behavioural health services, and a whole lot more.
Our mission is clear: to serve and advocate for the medically underserved living or working in Centre County, Pennsylvania. We strive to create a healthier, stronger community by ensuring that everyone has access to quality healthcare. We believe that every individual deserves quality healthcare, regardless of their socio-economic background or insurance status. By providing a wide range of services, including dental care, behavioural health services, and medical clinics, we are making a tangible difference in the lives of those we serve.
