Our Story
NCEENT was founded in 1914 by Samuel D. McPherson, Sr., M.D. The practice has operated continuously in Durham, North Carolina since its founding. For more than 100 years, NCEENT has been a leader in providing Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology care for the community and has been active in medical research and the training of new physicians. Our physicians have made significant contributions to the field of medicine, including developing specialized suture materials for use in eye surgery and performing the first cornea transplant in the southeastern United States.
Our Services
At NCEENT, we offer a wide range of services to ensure our patients receive comprehensive care. Our board-certified ophthalmologists specialize in a full spectrum of eye care, from prescribing glasses and contacts to complex and delicate eye surgery. Our board-certified otolaryngologists specialize in managing diseases of the ears, nose, and throat, from treating ear infections to delicate surgery. Our clinical Audiologists and board-certified physicians work together to offer quality diagnostic services and hearing aids to assist our patients who are having difficulty hearing. Our Speech-Language Pathologists provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to all ages in a full range of speech, language, voice, feeding, fluency, and swallowing services.
Our Locations
NCEENT has five convenient locations throughout the Triangle, making it easy for our patients to receive the care they need. Our locations include North Durham, South Durham, Erwin Road, Roxboro, and Chapel Hill. Each location is equipped with the latest technology and staffed by experienced physicians and staff who are dedicated to providing the highest level of care.
